The kepa melon is a vine-fruit found across the lands that lie south of the Gulf of Merchants.  The vine is typical to open grasslands but also resilient enough to grow in rockier regions.  The plant is resistant to heat and times of drought.  The outer rind is more like a shell, hard and fibrous, with pin-like ribbing running from top to bottom.  The inside has
a sweet and sticky pulp
with a hard pit at the
center.  The melon has
many uses and
applications.  There area
variety of wines and
sweet scented perfumes
made from the juice of
the pulp.  The thread-like
fibers are used in making
jewelry and twine.  The
crushed shell is often
added to construction
material as a hardener.
